Waist Twister
A balance disc is a piece of exercise equipment that creates an unstable base for you to sit or stand on while exercising. The lack of stability from the disc forces you to engage your deep abdominal core muscles in order to maintain stability while you perform various exercises. Twisting abdominal exercises work the oblique muscles, which run down the side of your stomach. Adding a medicine ball to the exercise routine can help you to tone up quicker when combined with a balance disc.
Standing Twists:
Step 1
Stand on the balance disc with a straight spine.
Step 2
Bring your arms out to the sides and twist your torso to the right.
Step 3
Move your torso and arms back to center and twist to the left.
Step 4
Grip a medicine ball and twist your torso to the right to increase the intensity of the exercise.
